Turnbull Ruins
These ruins are a complete mystery. Once thought to have been leftover from Dr. Andrew Turnbull's tyrannical colonization of the area for England, but now many historians believe it was around before his time. A hotel was built twice on top of the structure. Lost once to the civil war and the second time torn down. We may never know what these ruins truly represent. They are located in Old Fort Park in New Smyrna Beach. Trafficked mainly by locals and mostly unknown it was a neat place to explore on our way out of town.
It is a rare opportunity to climb in and around public ruins. I wish more parks allowed this.
