Lima, Peru

Lima is situated on the central Pacific coast of Peru. It is the country's largest metropolis and serves as the political, financial, and cultural hub. We traveled in and out of Lima but were able to spend one full day exploring, relaxing and meeting up with family and friends.

Please excuse my dirty camera sensor, I have had this thing professionally cleaned 3 times and cleaned myself, I think it may need a trip to Nikon.

The cliff side of  Miraflores is quite beautiful and is a popular surfing spot.

Parque del Amor (Love Park)

El Beso (The Kiss) Sculpture is in the center of this picturesque park.

Huaca Pucllana

Parque el Olivar (olive park) is nestled in the San Isidro area of Lima and is filled with 1,000 olive trees!

+ The Basilica and Convent of San Francisco de Lima, also known as San Francisco el Grande or San Francisco de Jesus, is located in the Historic Center of Lima, Peru. We explored the catacombs (my favorite part) and searched for the Inca "Easter eggs" hidden throughout the cathedral.

We ended the afternoon poolside on the rooftop of our hotel followed by a long nap.

This was the trip of a lifetime that took years to finally come to fruition. Fernanda, Jose and all of my sister's family and friends were welcoming and I wish we could have had more time with them, however our one drink turned into most of the night and early morning. Peru stole my heart.
