I finally got a real beach day!

I usually go to Hunting Island when I visit my family. This time I wanted to try a new beach. I figure since my sister moved just outside of Hilton Head I should try to find somewhere close to where she lives. I am not a fan of the main beach of Hilton Head...too many tourists. This beach was perfect. Hardly anyone there and from what I hear it is like that most days. It is very shallow water, which is great for smaller kids and very pretty. Plus FREE Parking! And the lot is shaded. I loved this place. It even had real bathrooms and a beach shower.

I like that animals could come here. I am a little confused though. Aren't you SUPPOSED to loiter on a beach? I mean what else is there to do?

I also learned this is a breeding ground for Horseshoe Crabs.

I collected only a few shells because every time I found a good one it had a critter inside.

What is that?

It was low tide. We could walk a few 100 yards and still not be more than waist deep.

I would like to come back here again at high tide to see how different it is.

My poor kid has my jacked up feet. At least there is some part of him that looks like me.
