This was our last raingutter regatta. 

Each Summer the boys build boats to race for the last of our summer activities. This years set up was not as elaborate but boy was it easier to put together and break down.

With a whistle start the boys begin blowing through their straws into the sails of their boats. They cannot touch the boat (we had a melt down over this). They can blow without the straw if they choose to.

This is our 4th year racing. Last year we were late and missed the pre-judging for best in show. We came home empty handed. Our first year we won best in show and the second year we got 3rd place for show. This year little man actually did much of the painting and strategized to win for speed rather than worrying about having the best looking boat.

It was a close race for the gold!

But he pulled it off!

We ended up taking 1st place for show and the Gold Medal for speed!

What a way to end out Cub Scout career...now to just win the pinewood derby!
