Another F in the books.

I accompanied my son to man one of the booths at the fair (or was it a festival?), trying to hock that boy scout popcorn. It was a total fail but we did get to enjoy a nice day outside and this year they let me take pictures inside the house.

Our tent was conveniently located next to the reptile trailer.

There was a makeshift pen out front with a giant box turtle out front that kept trying to escape. Those who know me, know I love turtles. Giant turtles (not tiny ones but those are ok too).

This guy was pushing his pen all over the place. I just wanted to scoop him up and let him be free!

I felt bad for this little gator too. He was cute and let me pet his head. I asked what they were going to do with him when he grows up and was told since he has been hand fed by humans his whole life, he could never be released. He has no fear and associates us with food. I thought they did that anyway. That still did not really answer my question. I have issues when I see things like this. I love animals (even scary ones) and I am very judgemental of people and how they use them. These were clearly money makers and not promoting advocacy for education or rescue. I will get off my soap box now.

363 days of the year you cannot get on this property or in this house. We came to the EWF a few years back and they were shooting off real cannons. Really cool for a little boy or parents who use their kids to be kids again. No cannon this year but we did meet this guy.

He let this little man hold his musket and showed him how it works and then fired it for us.

They took forever to shoot because you had to clean them after each shot and only had about a 75 yard range. That is why they had the knife inserts on the end of them. Probably way more effective to stab someone with one of these than to shoot them.

I am thankful for indoor plumbing.

I am also thankful for mattresses and sewing machines.

I ran into some friends and visited some neighbors who had a booth here also. Everyone reported slow sales but at least we weren't sweating and wet.
