Terlingua Ghost Town + Marfa Texas
Marfa is an art oasis in the desert and part of the largest dark sky preserve in the world.
La Kiva in Terlingua, TX, is a historic, cave-like bar famously known for the 2014 murder of owner Glenn Felts in its parking lot, which led to a, subsequently acquitted, murder trial.
The Starlight theater was built in the 19th century and has been the heart of Terlingua. It was a Theater during the mercury mining days, then abandoned, and reborn in the late 20th century as artists, dreamers and adventures revived the area. It is a unique dining experience and definitely the best meal we had on this trip.
This rates as my second favorite cemetery - only bested by Tombstone.
