It is that time of the year where I like to reflect on what I have accomplished or not accomplished from the goals I set this time last year.
Lets focus on what did happen...
I learned how to blow glass!
I went to 3 National Parks including Dry Tortugas!
I kissed a Sea Lion!
I spent an ungodly amount of time with family at the Lake and the pool.
I saw some cool art exhibits
I saw one of my oldest and dearest friends that I have not seen in 20 years!
I finally made it to the not-so-new Braves stadium
I joined my neighborhood Book Club and made some new friends!
We even attended a Taylor Sift themed drag brunch!
I attended a Night of 1000 Mrs. Ropers!
Attended quite a few concerts- including Danzig (above) with my old high school crew.
I managed a few sunrise hikes
And I finally got to Maine!
I knocked Salem Massachusetts off my Halloween bucket list!
Climbed a new mountain and even hiked the Mammoth March 20 mile challenge is less than 8 hours!
Lastly I got my artistic groove back.
Now for my Goals Recap.
1. I was all set to flyboard for my birthday but I found out too late there was more involved with the place than we were ready for so that got pushed aside. My buddy was gifted a hang gliding experience so when he books I am going along to do it again even higher this time.
2. I wanted to visit National Parks out west and had a whole vacation planned but my car died and I had to buy a new one. So we opted to road trip to the Keys instead and visited Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park and the Dry Tortugas. It was my first time in the keys and we had a great experience.
3. I did not solo hike the AT again, however I did a Mammoth March 20 mile hike in Tennessee. The goal was to do it in under 8 hours. I had a friend hike half if it with me. I solo hiked the last half and limped across the finish line. I am glad I did it but it made me realize that maybe thru hiking that many miles per day would take the joy out of hiking for me so my plans for the week long AT solo hike is on hiatus.
4. I have finally felt the urge to be more creative again. More so in other realms than photography. Neuro art is an obsession but blowing glass and some other outlets are having me burst with excitement to create. I cannot wait to share more later as I hone my skills.
5. I have definitely crushed my goals to read more and scroll less. I joined a neighborhood book club and another friends book club. I have been devouring books! My favorite so far this year is Remarkably Bright Creatures. My favorite book club selection is Fourth Wing. So Good! Like Hunger Games and GoT had a baby.
So that is my recap. Next up is my goals for 2024.
