Cliff Walk - Maine

I have been dying to go to Maine for a while now. When we planned our trip to Salem, Mass. I realized how close we were going to be. A few quick google searches and 1/2 day of free time when we landed, we headed to York Harbor, Maine.

The rocky shores, cliffs, moody sky and gorgeous homes are exactly how I always pictured Maine. We spent the entire afternoon wandering around the Cliff Walk. We watched a wedding. Listened to Loons. My husband flew his drone. I took senior pictures of my son. We skipped rocks and hiked jagged cliffs. It was a magical day.

The Cliff Walk is an out and back of only +/- one mile but it feels so much longer. The Harbor is only about 45 minutes from the New Hampshire border and a very easy quick drive from Salem. The roads however are 25-35 MPH in the area and the highway has tolls in spots. We managed to avoid most of them and preferred the slow pace so we could look at all the gorgeous fall foliage and historic homes. There are many other nearby places to explore to make a full day of it. We spent so much time here we did not get to explore the town as much. The area is booming during the summer and many places are closed or operating at a minimum this time of year. I would love to come back in the Summer and head much further North.
