Yellow River Game Ranch Re-opens

The Yellow River Game ranch was in pretty sad shape before it closed for good a few years back. New owners came in, found homes for many of the animals and re-imagined the property to be a preserve. They have created new living spaces for the animals and they are thriving in a happier and healthier environment. Not just deer, pigs, goats and bunnies. There is quite a diversity of animals that came to them for various reasons. Tickets are limited and timed and must be purchased on line in advance to limit contact. The gift shop is open but you have to wear a mask if you enter. The paths are wide and there are signs all over to respect social distancing.

It felt great to take Brody and his best friend out somewhere to celebrate the end of school. They already missed out on so much.

Can we talk about how grown up these boys are now? They have been best buds since 1st grade and they are now celebrating the end of Middle School together. Chokes me up!

Bottom line- YR is much improved and though still feels familiar, it is a much better version of it's former self. Also there is Gem mining! I was tempted but I guess the boys are too cool for that now. Instead I was treated to endless "the Office" quotes and a glimpse of teen boys who still can be tempted with animal cuteness.
