The weekend before St. Patrick's Day, aka my favorite holiday, we went up to the mountains for some social distancing. We did a short hike around a new to me trail, War Woman Dell. We only saw one other person on the trail. It was perfect.
My favorite part of hiking in the south is all the rhododendrons that flank the trails. They are just cool plants.
The area was named to honor a venerated Cherokee woman, the Warwoman, who frequented the area and advised the Cherokee tribal council on war and peace. The hike takes you to Becky Branch Falls. It is a small waterfall.
I can't wait until we can get back on the trails!
