Happy Birthday Shane!

My husband had a big birthday recently. There were dinners with family, dinners with friends, fancy drinks, breakfast with grits...ew and a family trip to the High to see Infinity Mirrors. This was my second time and their first so I was a little more prepared. We were lucky to get in 2 rooms all together. That is no easy feat!

It is hard to pick a favorite. I really love the pumpkins. You can't take pictures inside that room because some fun killer broke a pumpkin at some point while it was in another city. An attendant is actually in the room with you so you don't want to even try. Still, I am drawn to the little display inside the pink polka dot ball. This might actually truly be my favorite.

There is almost no room for anymore dots in the obliteration room. The white room has been gradually obliterated over the course of the exhibition, the space changing measurably with the passage of time as the dots accumulate as a result of thousands of contributors. Check out the difference between early December to now.

The best part of the night was having all four of us together for longer than an hour. I am getting older and more sentimental. Once my mom and dad split up my family were hardly ever together unless it was a major life or death event. There we no more outings for fun involving all 3 of us kids. I want my kids to have so many memories that they can't even remember them all. They actually do! I will admit I use them as an excuse to never grow up myself. Is that such a bad thing? Looking at pictures (and the birth date on our drivers license) there is no denying we are getting older. We both are embracing our gray. We still feel good. I don't feel my age, I sure don't act it either. I hope we have many more years feeling good, being active together with our kids. We are a unique bunch, but we are a tribe. A weird tribe, but my tribe.
