Over the weekend we attended the tiniest little fair up in the mountains. Really any excuse to ride a ferris wheel. The more rickety the better. This may have been the most rusted and scariest little carnival ever. The fun house required a tetanus shot and was broken but still sending people through. For some reason the ferris wheel only had 4 cars occupied at a time. This spooked the kids and they left us hanging to take our lives into our hands without them. Amy was a trooper and rode all the rides. I draw the line at anything that spins. I did finally agree to ride one spinning ride last and while we waited in line the last group threw up in the one of the cars. While waiting for the operator to clean it up, he grabbed a 5 gallon bucket full of water and dumped it into the car. There was no drain. We bailed. There was a sideways ferris wheel that was fully operational, though fast, open and noisier than I would prefer.

There was funnel cakes and fried Twinkies to be consumed and Ike had chicken on a stick. For a fair the food and drinks were really reasonably priced. There was also a surprisingly diverse petting zoo.

This goat kept escaping so they had to tie him to the outside of his pen.

I have never seen nor heard of a Coati Mundi before encountering one in Costa Rica. Now I see them everywhere. I did learn however that the scary growl were heard in the jungle of CR was NOT a Coati Mundi and more likely a Howler Monkey or Jaguar. Yikes!

I also met the worlds friendliest camel. This guy gave me all kinds of unsolicited kisses.

The highlight was cuddling this albino wallaby. How cute is he?

The main event for this little fair was a Rodeo. I had never been to one and neither has my southern born husband. We did not stay for the whole thing but got the gist. I can tell you one thing, this was some of the best people watching!
