Tony's Artistic Taxidermy has a free museum, that accepts donations, filled with wonderful stuffed animals. There is no bad taxidermy here. There are also 3 resident kitties to great you. My favorite was the 3 legged cat named Tripod that is white with markings on its head that looks like it has horns. So sweet! He lost his leg to a snake. The cats like to perch atop the alligators on display.

There used to be a gift shop and hotel attached to the museum, which is really just a building behind a house. They are still there but no longer open. Hunters would come and stay and have their animals stuffed while they sleep. Quite a niche business that I guess was not very profitable. The 2 men I met were very willing to answer any questions we had. They do not stuff former pets. They do not want to deal with crying people at their counter. Solid plan.

If you plan to visit be prepared to go through a minefield of Florida love bugs. traveling through Florida always requires several stops at the gas station to clean the ginormous bugs off of your windshield but never have I ever experienced the hail storm of bugs I did while in this particular part of the sunshine state. I had to even lift the hood to clean out the carcasses.
