BongolandBongoland was a theme park in Port Orange, Florida from 1948 to 1952. It has a miniature train, replica of a Seminole village and prehistoric monsters. Today all that survives (some barely) are 5 concrete and chicken wire dinosaurs surrounded by beautiful gardens and the ruins of an old sugar mill. There is a small free library and restroom facilities on the property along with a small parking lot. If what remains is representative of what once was, it is pretty clear why this theme park was short lived. The grounds however are beautiful. Worth a detour to wonder around.
The cactus garden was worth the trip alone.
I thought the T-Rex was bad but that Ground Sloth tho....
