Cocoa Beach is the closest beach from the Orlando area and the Port Canaveral cruise port. This helps make it a very busy and popular tourist spot. Add to it the mega giant Ron Jon's Surf Shop, lots of beachside bars and restaurants and one of the few good surfing spots on the east coast, you are guaranteed a crowd. The Tiki Bar is cool for the view but the food was meh and the Bloody Mary was watery. Opt instead for Coconuts for better food and drinks.

This guy was cracking us up. He was yelling, smacking the water and cursing at the waves. I guess he was not having a good surfing day.

We spent most of our beach time at Jetty Park. Far less crowded and the water is just as pretty. This is the park where we rented our cabin. It is just steps away from the beach and has a pier of it's own.

You can see the night and day difference in the crowds. This is my kind of beach.

One accidental chip flip and we had made friends. Luckily no one was pooped on. This was my one and only beach trip for the summer and I just barely got it in before the official start of fall.
