Our son became very attached to our baby squirrel. He was pretty heartbroken when it was time to release him back into the wild. I decided it was time to let him have a small pet of his own. Growing up I had every animal under the sun. Mice and rats were the best of all of the small ones. I tried to talk him into a rat but he likes all things tiny and cute so mice won.

2 baby sisters from the same litter. We picked them out straight from coming in from the breeder before they even hit the display cage. They were held for 4 days before we could pick them up. They are very sweet. It is better to get more than one so long as they have grown up together. They are social animals. My son is obsessed with animals large and small so it is time to let him truly take care of one (or 2).

He named them after much consideration Lexie + Emma. I am not sure where the names came from but Lex is the black and white one and Emma is the tan and white one. Sorry for the crappy pics, I just snapped a couple quickly before we headed out to dinner at mom's. The lighting in my kitchen is horrendous and I didn't have the best lens for the subject attached. Will do better when we have some daylight to work with.
