Okefenokee Swamp
The Okefenokee Swamp is one of the 7 natural wonders of Georgia. It is the largest blackwater swamp in North America filled with mosquitoes that will eat your face off, along with alligators that would also like to eat your face off.
Gators are everywhere.
Deet...Just do it...the natural bug spray just does not cut it around here.
So many critters! I was just passing through and did not have nearly enough time to enjoy the area. I must plan to go back with a kayak and give it a go properly.
Georgia gets a bad wrap for being boring but I have found lots of beauty and fantastic places to explore. Save
