Thanks to Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid, I found out about this app. I can now find small hidden away graveyards in my area that I had no idea existed. I have always been fond of exploring old cemeteries since I was a kid. Since moving to Georgia I have found most cemeteries here are new and shiny and boring (besides the amazing Oakland and the ones around Savannah). The photo above is from Cadle-McKerlay cemetery hidden away behind a auto parts store.

The rest of the photo's below are from the Freeman cemetery in downtown Suwanee. This was the first time I have visited an all African-American site. The headstones varied from nice new shiny ones to single rocks as markers. I also found my first ever handmade grave stone.

This is a tiny site tucked away in the cutest neighborhood, which is odd, but was very interesting find.

I know cemeteries are not everyone's "thing" but I find them peaceful and beautiful. You can scroll past to find much less morbid posts.
