Ride the LineKnocked another goal off my list! We biked the East side Beltline in Atlanta. The BeltLine is a former railway corridor around the core of Atlanta, Georgia, under development in stages as a multi-use trail. Some portions are already complete, while others are still in a rough state but hikeable. We started from the Freedom trail at the Carter Center a rode down Freedom Parkway to the eastside connector.
We had so much fun! I also got to try out my new GoPro and bike mount.
There is so much great art along the trail.
And awesome views
So many places to stop and eat or drink. Everything is very bike friendly. Lots of people and dogs along the way. I love that businesses and residents along the path leave out bowls of water for our furry friends.
We rode all the way to Krog St. Market. So many food options. We decided to eat at Yalla. So Good! I had the Shawarma bowl and Shane had the lamb pita. Every bite sang to my tongue. We washed it down with homemade sodas. I had the Pineapple lime and he had the Cucumber mint. Both were so refreshing. It was way too hot to even think about drinking any beer but Hop City sure was tempting.
I know some pooches that are going to be getting some fun goodies this Christmas. Are we the only family that buys each others dogs Christmas presents?
We headed to the other end of the eastside beltline trail and stopped at Ponce City Market to see what all the hype was about.
This reminded me of Highline Park in NYC except it is bigger and better.
Its was super fun to spend the day together riding our bikes through the city and taking it all in. We both want to come back when it is cooler and we want to explore more of the line. We explored the North Side by bike which is also pretty but much different. I love how each section is gorgeous but in it's own way.
There is a permanent We<3Atl exhibit! Guys, I love this project!
Hope you enjoyed my little 4 mile out and back ride through what I believe is the best thing to happen to Atlanta since Coke. Save Comments
