I will let you in on a little known secret about me.

Saint Patrick's Day is my favorite holiday. My next favorite is 4th of July.

Everyone always thinks it is Halloween (go figure).

Give me a holiday that involves drinking, no family obligations, not religious and I don't have to buy a gift and I will give you a happy drama free Mary.

And I am an Irish!

I completely dork out over a few things in life, parades top that list. Maybe it is because when I was little growing up on Long Island, my Dad was NYPD and his precinct was in charge of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. He took me once, sadly I don't remember much of it, but even still we watched it every year on TV, still do. My mom and I would call each other when the Rockettes would come on so we would not miss it. Now I record it in case I do miss them so I can go back and find them. #traditions

This year my son and I were invited to walk in the HUGE Atlanta St. Patrick's Day parade with Southeast Llama Rescue

Ummm, Hello... you want me to dress up silly, on my favorite holiday and walk in a parade with a llama?

How many of my favorites things can we do at ONE TIME!?!

First of all, I was flattered and excited just to be asked.  Second of all, since it was my friend Lori who invited me I knew it was going to be epic.

Lori = Fun!

And not just regular fun but epic memory making fun!

Next step was dressing the llamas in their best green attire.

Even the Great Danes got in on the costume action.

All llamas are Irish on St. Patrick's Day!

I figured I would be walking with my friend Lori, who would be handling her very own llama for the first time during the parade.

Then I got the news...

I am going to get my very own llama to walk in the parade!

Then I was asked if I felt comfortable with Brody walking a llama also?

HOLY AMAZEBALLS this days keeps getting better and better!

That right there is a REAL smile!

Tracy Munroe is the llama mama. She gave us all lessons on how to handle the llamas, what to do if there is a wardrobe malfunction and we all kept an eye out to make sure my little man and his very tame and sweet llama were OK at all times.

I can't tell you how many times I was asked...

"Are those llamas or alpacas?"

"do they spit?"

"are they more like dogs or horses?"

"can I take a picture with the llama?"

We were all trending on twitter, instagram and facebook in Atlanta last Saturday.

In addition to completely nerding out on the parade we got to line up next to the 501st!

Those guys were asking to take pictures with us as much as we were asking to take pictures with them.

Talk about making a little boys dreams come true!

So let me get this straight...

I got to walk in a parade with my son and a llama alongside Star Wars characters on my favorite holiday AND an open invitation to do it again at Christmas? Can I just say this was one of the best days of my entire life, no lie!

My face hurt and my mouth was dry from smiling non-stop all day.

This goes down as the best St. Patrick's Day EVER!
