Days of the Dead

This will be my 4th year attending Days of the Dead Atlanta. I was on the fence about going this year for a few different reasons. I had a lot of family stuff going on, trying to save money, the looming lack of a presence that would be blatantly apparent and most importantly the worst DJ to ever punish a dance party. As it drew nearer, the stars would align, a bed would open up and a dear friend would be coming in town.

This was the most fun I have had since the first year.

Spending time with these ladies is never dull.

From blanket forts and Saturday morning cartoons (Hanna-Barbera the B sides) #ilovescat

A traditional Trader Vics weekend kick-off

Friends singing Scaryee-Okee (Stan the Zombie feat. Kat + Jen) Down with the Sickness

Celebrity Scaryee-Okee

Phil from Pantera

Freddy Krueger singing Sweet Dreams

Kat the dancing queen

Mustache Mayhem, silliness and lots of cell phones pictures.

I got to hang out with friends I have had since high school!

I think it is the coolest thing in the world to be able to have my kids play with my childhood friends kids. They were adorable!

My son stood patiently in line to meet one of his idols, Jeremy Bulloch, the original Boba Fett! He cherishes his autograph and this picture.

Not to mention all the other Star Wars characters he got to meet both real and costumed.

This was the first con I ever took my son to. He loved it. He got to high-five Jason from Friday the 13th (Kane Hodder) and play action figures with Phil from Pantera.

And all the other characters and celebrities like John Dugan (from Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and riding in the elevator talking to Heather Langenkamp from Nightmare on Elm Street.

My husband is the best for coming down to hang with me and bring our son to experience such a great con.

Things get pretty out of hand after hours (and not child appropriate)

The costume contest is a good time. You can see more pictures here

This guy was disgusting. He smelled like roadkill rabbit.

I think I am going through withdrawl from having so much fun. I bought some very cool art, was given a postcard for my penpal, made some new friends and saw some old ones. I missed one friend tremendously but he was there in spirit.

Until Next year Atlanta...
