Brasstown Bald is the highest point in the state of Georgia. Located in northeast Georgia, the mountain is known to the native Cherokee people as Enotah.

The recognizable tower

It is $5 per person but that includes a shuttle to the top if you don't want to hike there. It is not a long hike but it is a steep one. I had not been here in 20 years. There was no shuttle back then and the trail was what is now the road. The new hiking trail is beautiful. I feel like you are missing out if you don't at least hike back down the mountain through that gorgeous path.

The visitor center has some interesting artifacts and hands on exhibits. We did not watch the movie they had playing. I was too busy taking in the view.

The general store at the bottom is worth a stop. I picked up a tiny bear for my son and a Christmas gift for my daughter.

Booking a weekend months in advance was the best decision I had made all Summer. I really needed this trip. We really needed this trip.
