Upon looking for a cemetery to explore I came across an interesting story about the grave of a man that is still alive.

Dent Meyers was a big believer in the 2012 Mayan apocalypse. He went ahead and had a giant tombstone erected in the local cemetery marking his death year as 2012. The epitaph is quite hilarious. It is the largest stone in the cemetery and is made out of granite that was set aside for a confederate memorial that was never used.

In Kennesaw, GA lies one of the most controversial shops in the country:  Wildman's Civil War Surplus and Herb Shop. 

Mr. Meyers is a firm believer in a controversial law in Kennesaw that required citizens to own a gun.  He keeps two loaded pistols in a holster at all times. 

The main purpose behind his shop is about the Confederacy.  He was told by a psychic that he was the reincarnation of Stonewall Jackson, and he believes it.  He also states that he hasn't had a president in 150 years, since Jefferson Davis was removed from power.

"His belief system is somewhat puzzling.  He seems to be big into any conspiracy theory he can find.  He has a great distrust of the United States Government, which he believes is controlled by the Illuminati.  He claims Pearl Harbor and 911 were inside jobs.  He believes car seats were designed to train children to be accustomed to being confined, so the government can control them." ~ The Carpetbagger

Sadly, when we visited the shop was closed. We found this note and weren't exactly sure what was up so Lori called the number and spoke to him herself. He asked if we did not see the sign that stated when he would return and she responded with the sign looks like it has been there since 1978 and wasn't sure if it was always left up or not. With the guise of legitimately looking for a military poncho liner (to be used in hammock camping...more on that later) we asked if he carried any, he did not know ponchos had liners. So 2 strikes on this deal. I was curious to see the inside of what could have been the scariest redneck store in America. That will have to wait for another day.
