Paracas, Peru Day 1

We have talked about visiting Peru for many years. My sister-in-law is from there and still has many family and friends in Paracas and Lima. Her cousin runs a travel company in South America and planned the whole trip for us. It was a refreshing change to not have to figure out the logistics.

My sister's luggage cart was as tall as her. She flew in from NYC and met us in Lima. Our first stop was breakfast before our 4 hour bus ride to Paracas.
We never had a bad meal since setting foot in Peru.

My sister's friend picked us up from breakfast and brought us to the bus station.

The bus was incredibly comfortable and provided us with a much needed power nap from our overnight flights.

When children grow up and start families of their own they build on top of the existing home. There seems to be a constant state of construction to most houses.

Hotel Paracas is operated by Marriott, however when my SIL was little the resort was private and she knew everyone, her dad would take tourists fishing and to the Ballestas Islands. It was impressive to see Peru through her influence.

Our first night we had the most incredible sunset.

After many Pisco Sours and Malbec, we finally went to bed to prepare for an early start.
