Started the year off with Brody turning 18 and getting his drivers license!

We celebrated my husbands birthday with a trip to Asheville, NC to tour the Biltmore House and we finally did Falconry!

I kept up with book club. I beat my Goodreads reading challenge of 50 books by reading 64!

I hosted a workshop in my home and learned how to make candles! I have made many candles for friends and co-workers since.

My son graduated high school! My awesome friend Tracy brought Pie over to help us celebrate at his graduation party. He is currently interning at the Northeast Georgia hospital in Gainesville and loving it! 

Graduation mother/son trip down to Savannah to stay in the most haunted hotel room inside the 17 Hundred 90 Inn. We found an old cemetery we had not explored yet and took a ghost tour as well. We left a present for our ghostly roommate, Anna, who made herself known to us as well as another ghost we believe was Thaddeus. We still plan on another bigger trip when his internship is over to yet another ghostly destination.

We celebrated 20 years of marriage!

Our anniversary trip took us to Carson City, Nevada to visit dear friends Mike & Kim. We camped, went to several hot springs, had a celebration drink on our anniversary at the infamous Bunny Ranch, visited Yosemite National Park, drove through the Sierra Nevada's and spent lots of time at Lake Tahoe hiking and swimming! We even saw a golden eagle and a Mountain Lion! Visited Virginia City and Reno! Was a great trip with great people!

I did not get to Kayak which was one of my goals but we did float down the Cartecay River and tubed some Class 2+ waterfalls.

Had another great Fourth at the Lake with the Grays.

Spent some much needed time with my sister-in-law.

And I got to see my sister and her kids/grandkids too!

2024 also was one of the absolute toughest yet. Mom had a hematoma from a procedure gone wrong and has spent from 2/16 until present under the care of various hospitals, rehab centers and home nursing care. Sadly we had to sell her home in order to pay for her future care. It has been a struggle clearing out the house and all the emotions that come with it, especially at the holidays. We are lucky we found an excellent place for her to go nearby, in a personal home with trusted people and she can have her dog visit. Let's pray rehab #3 proves to be the one to get her walking in 2025!

I spent several days visiting my BFF in Florida and then she came up to visit me for her birthday!

I was also able to knock a couple of goals off my bucket list from years past...

  30th birthday girls trip was nothing short of magical.

We stayed in the most epic Airbnb - The Hobbitat

The last goal I checked off my list for 2024 was taking classes at Medicine Bow from Mark Warren.

I was able to get into the fall plant identification class and the tracking class.

These classes have surpassed my deepest expectations. I have learned more than I could ever imagine and have the foundation to expand on these skills. I have signed up for 2 more classes in 2025!

 I have my own solo art exhibit! Currently on view at Cabin Coffee in Blairesville, GA.

However the biggest thing to happen in this year was my daughter found her soulmate.

2025 will be the year for wedding planning!
