Sloss Furnaces is located in Birmingham, Alabama and it is a National Historic site. It operated as a pig-iron producing blast furnace from 1882 to 1971. After closing, it became one of the first industrial sites in the U.S. to be preserved and restored. You can explore 90% of the site on your own and it is free to visit.
I know this post is picture heavy but I just could not help myself. I found the environment full of textures, colors and lines.
Major bucket list accomplishment!
