It has been a while since I posted about what I have been reading. I have been on hiatus but jumped back in recently.

1. Landline - Rainbow Rowell This was a light read about a magic phone and a if-I-could-do-it-all-over-again how or what would I do to change my relationship and my life. I pretty much love Rainbow Rowell after Eleanor and Park. This was pretty quick, fun read.

2. Fan Girl - Rainbow Rowell Apparently I did not get enough so I picked up this gem from the Books by the Pound store. I loved this ALMOST as much as E&P. I am currently on the waitlist at the library for Carry On, which is a heavy part of this story. This is more YA than the previous but it went by so fast and it entertained me. I like coming of age love stories.

3. You Know You Want This - Kristen Roupenian This is a compilation of short stories I saw on someone's list. Out of all the stories there was only 2 that got me and they were disturbing and uncomfortable, which is what I liked. I feel like the others were just thrown in. I am not big on short stories. It was meh.

4. Dark Matter - Blake Crouch I kept seeing this book everywhere. It is a sci-fi quantum love story. It is a fast read and keeps your attention. At first I found it hard to keep up with all the version of Jason, the main characters, life. The end though had me engaged and I could not put it down until I found out how it all worked out.

5. Big Magic - Elizabeth Gilbert You know her from Eat, Pray Love. This book is an inspirational autobiography. It is about living a creative life, whatever that means to you. I loved this. I feel like I am already doing a lot of what is suggested but it feels validating to know someone else feels as strongly as I do about priorities and the choices I tend to make concerning big life decisions.

6. A Stranger in the House - Shari Lapena This is the epitome of a beach read. Light, fast, mysterious. These types of books are not my jam but it was on those "lists" and I am trying to branch out. Good airport book. It is about a woman who gets amnesia after an accident and all that unfolds to figure out why she was speeding and how a murder is connected to her and a neighbor.

7. American Gods - Neil Gaiman I really LOVED this book. I mean really! It is dark and full of action. Not too many characters that you can't follow along. I love the tie ins to holidays and religions. I started watching the series after reading this. That is pretty good as well. Not for the faint of heart (the book or show).

That is about it. I have been sucked into the Umbrella Academy and the Magicians on Netflix. I also love Ricky Gervais and his new comedy special is fantastic as is his show After Life. That guys is my kind of humor. Also watch the Breaker Uppers on Netflix. SOOOOO FUNNY!
