"Canstruction® is a unique charity which hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the creations go on display to the public as a giant art exhibition. At the end of the event, all food is donated to local hunger relief organizations.

Recognized for our commitment to innovation, hunger relief  and collaboration, our work has helped raise over 25 million pounds of food since 1992.  Canstruction® events are held annually in over 150 cities around the world including North America, Australia, South America, Europe and Asia."

Last year Atlanta only had one sculpture. This year the works have expanded to fill 3 lobbies of the 271,201 and 171 buildings on 17th street in Atlantic Station. The lobbies are open for viewing to the public for free until 7pm weeknights. Not sure about weekend hours but sculptures are viewable through the windows as well. De-canstruction happens Friday, April 26th so if you want to see this in person, go now!

Some are hard to figure out. Some were meh, but there were some really neat ones like the apple and my favorite, the Ferris Wheel. I have seen Allie's posts about canstruction in NYC over the years. I hope ours gets as big and as intricate.
