My brother came to visit for my mother's 75th birthday. I figured it was a good excuse to checkout the tourist trap that is the roof of Ponce City Market.
You have to pay an admission of $10 to be able to get on the elevator and go onto the roof. Once you are there you can imbibe some fancy frozen drinks that are as strong as they are expensive. There is a beer garden, some midway games, a slide, which was made out of metal and it was a blazing 90+ degrees so we skipped that, some mini golf and a tower you can self propel yourself up. All at additional costs. My son loves carnival games, so we played a few. My husband and son raced my brother and his wife on the tower and we all generally enjoyed the view. Bottom line is it is over priced, hot and smaller than I expected. We had fun but I doubt I will ever do it again.
Shane's face kills me in this one!
We ended at Der Biergarten. Our experience there was a mixed bag. If I learned anything, a view alone is not enough to sell me on hipster hot spots in Atlanta.
