You would think we would have had our fill of animal adventures during our Florida trip but you would be sadly mistaken. Our tour guide Jen, took us to a preserve so we could hunt for gators. At first all we saw was an abundance of water fowl, but then we started to spot the gators near the ending of of our journey.

This is a fantastic place for birding and wildlife photography. Located along the Space Coast of Florida, it is close to lots of other destinations. It is free to get in. There are a couple of driving loops and a few hiking trails. Be aware of your surroundings because there are alligators and snakes everywhere. We mostly stayed in the car, stopping along the way, as did most people we saw. There are a couple of viewing platforms you can climb on to for a better view but be wary, one was invested with hornets. There are no facilities so keep that in mind before entering and it is one way through the loops. Worth a detour if you are in the area. This was not a spot I would have ever thought to visit had I not been with a local. Not on the tourist radar, so if you are into crowd aversion like me, this place is golden!
