There are the cutest little shops in downtown Auburn.

They are the Whistlestop Shops. I have been dying to get over here and see them up close and personal. They are still pretty new and there are a few more that have been built that are still not occupied. The day I happened to stop by was the first day Willotta's Bakery had opened. She was a delight to to talk to and I sampled anything and everything in her shop. I came home with the most moist apple cake I had ever tasted along with a HUGE beautiful loaf of Challah bread that was devoured in record time in my house. I don't bring fresh bread home often and this stuff was serious crack. We could not keep tearing off pieces until it disintegrated.

Out here past the burbs in no mans land (between Athens and Atlanta) there is not a whole lot of kitschy shops or eateries. I hope these stick around and people support them.
