On July 4th we ran the worlds largest 10k with 65,000 other people.

The Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo is the biggest pre-race expo I have every been to. Even bigger than Disney. This year it was smaller than I remember but still bigger than anything else. I was sad the photobooth was not there this year and neither were the sparkle skirts vendor.

Both my daughter and I had injuries that prevented us from training very hard but we weren't going to let that deter us!

We can finally see the starting line. I was in coral J but stayed back in R with my daughter and our friends so we could stay together easier.

It was a code red smog alert day. It was really hot and my migraine was not helping me. I probably should have skipped the free beer followed by the free Bloody Mary on Cardiac Hill but why mess up tradition.

A runner went into cardiac arrest (they are ok) just before the finish line and the race was stopped for a little while. That was when the heat really hit me. Imagine a few thousand people coming to a complete stop just yards from the finish. Was not my best time but I had a good time and that is all that matters. We did it and we got the coveted T-shirt.
