It is spring break here in the metro Atlanta area. Normally it is warmer. We are actually getting a real spring this year. Most often we get a nice week of 70 degree weather then it is 90's until September. I hate the hot weather. I like 68-73. I am really glad we did not plan to go anywhere far away this week. Really that is because I could not get the time off and we are going to Disney next weekend (yikes!... half marathon ready or not). I managed to get a half and a whole day to spend with my little man for spring break. Most of my kids life I have not been able to do anything with them during this time. My daughter got to go on a few beach trips with her friends over the years but mainly it was camp (glorified daycare) for them. We are finally in a place in our lives where we can do a little more (I have the best boss) even if it is only half days or half weeks.

I bought the parking pass for Stone Mountain when we went snow tubing a few months back. I also received a free adventure pass when we went so we were able to do anything we wanted on our next visit. I tucked it away and saved it up for spring break.

This is a great spot to run off excess energy ( you know like after you climb the mountain you have so much left )

Riding the tram is fun, and we did because it was part of our free pass but we climbed also, because we are hikers and that is what we do.

We also played mini golf ( I got 2 hole-in-ones!), climbed the Geyser Tower, watched a 4D movie, shot foam balls in the Great Barn and did the Sky Hike ropes course. My son was not a fan of the Sky Hike. When it first opened years back I did this with my daughter and we conquered the whole thing and even repeated the top hardest level. Not my little guy. We did get through the entire first level but not without me having to help him through it and fighting back some tears. Poor thing. I forget how little he is sometimes and how much of a Type A I can be. There is a new sky jump opening soon but I am not sure he is even close to ready to do that. Maybe next year.
