The weather people in Atlanta just plain suck. It was supposed to be sunny, warm and dry.

What we got was fog, drizzle and mud

We got a good group to go back and hike Blood Mountain and the AT again. This time we were not going to just go up and back. We went up and back down and around the mountain and followed the Freeman Trail back to the cross section where Byron Reese meets the Appalachian Trail. This was the before picture when we were still mostly dry and warm.

Right about here it started consistently spitting on us and the fog was getting thick

Marie and Al found this beautiful spot through the woods that had these cool cliffs, trees and gullies

Dave kept saying we are getting close to the top every time we hit a clearing

We made it!

Of course no trip is complete without a little BBQ...not as epic as last time, in fact Marie and I had luke-warm stew that neither of us finished but they had beer so there is that! Now this is a true "woke up like this" picture, except Kathini always looks cute (damn her)
