I caught the last day of the Elizabeth Catlett exhibit at the Hudgens Center. Catlett was an African-American graphic artist and sculptor best known for her depictions of the African-American experience in the 20th century. Her main focus became sculpting but she never left print making. I personally loved her prints the best. On display also were the local artists who competed for the annual Hudgens Prize. I love being able to wander this gallery on my lunch break. It is a hidden jewel.
