Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale NY

My most recent trip to NY I decided it was time to visit graves and introduce my son to his great grandparents and the first of many Edwards that is his namesake. The first stop was to visit my paternal grandparents Lillian and Gilbert Langstaff in Pinelawn cemetery. It was a blustery day. We went into the office to get a map and directions to the grave site. We still had a hard time finding the exact spot. After many trips back to the truck to warm up we finally figured out where they were.

Though I am not usually a big fan of the plaque grave marker, this cemetery was really peaceful and serene.

It has been 10 years since my grandma has died. She was the last of my grandparents. My grandfather died a year before I was born. I know that was a catalyst for my father. I never got to know him but I heard he was a great man. My grandmother never remarried. They just don't make marriages like that anymore.
