Better late than never!
While visiting my dad, I had to take the train into the city with my son. Everyone should experience Christmas in NY once in their life. I was lucky enough to grow up with it. It has been a very long time since I got to spend the holidays back home and I forgot how magical the city, and Long Island are this time of year. I just wish it didn't feel like the Arctic Circle while we were there. Add another 2.5 train ride due to the cold weather and delays, it was not the "most wonderful time of the year". Still it was nice to share a piece of my childhood with my child.
My window picture did not turn out so great. You really need to go at night but since it was 14 degrees (at the high) and felt like 4 that was not going to happen. We did duck into the New York public library to warm up.
The snow white windows at Saks were my favorite, but also my worst shots.
The reflections were killing me and so was the cold. Our next stop was St. Patrick's Cathedral. Last few times I was here it was covered in scaffolding so it was great to see it in all it's glory.
Next stop was Rockefeller Center. The plan was to go to the top of the rock but the wait was 4 hours and it was bitter cold. Brody could not feel his hands anymore and the line for the Lego store was around the block. He pretty much was done. I am not going to lie. I was glad. I love NYC but not when it is this cold.
We cut over to Times Square on our way back to Penn Station just to see if the ball was up yet. It wasn't, but 2018 was.
Happy New Year!
