My spunky Smooth Fox Terrier turned 13 today. He recently had a bout with an upset stomach so no treats for this guy. Instead he got an arsenal of Nightmare Before Christmas toys. Since losing a few teeth a few months back (and even before this) he appreciates his soft toys and doesn't destroy them in 2.2 seconds anymore. His hearing is off but it is amazing that he can hear his food hitting the food bowl 2 rooms away, but can't hear me call his name. He tires out but he still loves to play ball. He jumps at any chance to run around the house chasing kids. He still is a snapper head when it comes to kisses but never a biter. He's more of a lover than a fighter these days. He developed a lump on his hind leg in the last week we are keeping an eye on. It doesn't seem to bother him. His grandpa lived to be 21 so I am holding out hope that he hangs on quite a bit longer than most dogs. He can be a pain in the butt sometimes because he has severe separation anxiety but that is because he loves us so very much. We love him too.
Happy Birthday Zero!
