My Best Choices In Life 52/5

52 lists

Looking back on what were the best choices I have made in my life so far has been the most gratifying exercise thus far from the 52 list project. Each decision is a dot that connects to the next that leads me to where I am now.

1.The first best decision I made was leaving regular High School to attend Open Campus Night School my senior year. I took that fateful Photography class where I met Adam Wayte. We became instant best friends. I can connect just about every friendship I have now though that choice and the ripple effect it had. It created my work ethic, made me finally find a place I fit in and was the first time I have met peers and teachers that encouraged me to go on to college and pursue art.

2. Ariana. She gives me strength like nothing else on Earth. She is the one thing in the world I am the most proud of. She is a more purer beauty than Snow White with a heart to match Mother Teresa. If you think I am exaggerating then you don't know her, if you do know her you think I may be being humble. I honestly don't know how she comes from me sometimes...and then her temper comes I know she is my child...but that temper is only directed at me. She has the best tastes in music, movies and art. Loves the outdoors, she is not hung up on labels or material things at all. She has a love for children and animals. She will fight for pretty much any underdog. She loves her grandmother fiercely. The care she shows for her little brother is insurmountable. She has a deep spirituality that leaves me in awe. She is my hero. It sounds cliche, but she is my pride and joy. I did not ever even want to have children when I was a teenager. She literally is the best thing to ever happen to me. She is everything that is good in the world.

3. Leaving Barrow County- I would say even moving there was a complete mistake to begin with but that choice may not have lead me to hate it so bad that I would have moved to the awesome school district I am in, and the great neighbors and friends I met where I live now that became framily.

4. Asking Shane to marry me was another wise decision! Happy he said yes :) He is the best father I could choose for Ariana and to have a child with. He is into all the weird things I am into and not into all the normal things I am not into. I still look at him 15 years later with the same heart eyes. We still hold hands. He makes me laugh about things that no one else would ever laugh at. He is my Gomez.

5. B-man! How I wanted a little boy to do all the little boy things with and boy did I get that x1000! I get to re-live Star Wars with a kid who loves it as much as I did as a kid. Super heroes, comics, cars, legos, nerf guns, Boy Scouts! This kid gets excited about EVERYTHING! He is happy 90% of the time (unless he is frustrated---then he can make you 110% crazy). He loves to run, camp, hike and kayak! He loves animals more than anything on Earth(well he might love his sister more). He is sweet, funny and has a kind heart. Not to mention he has his fathers good looks. He pretty much has me completely wrapped around his finger.
