There was a lot of planning into this surprise proposal. The original plan was to do it lake side but mother nature was not going to have any of that so we went with plan B. Both sets of kids really went above and beyond in the planning and pulling off this surprise. Poor Jennie had no idea what was going on. She was so happy that the kids were excited about spending the weekend together at the lake house and the upcoming fourth of July party. Little did she know it was also an engagement party. I got the text from Gary that were at the restaurant and that was my cue to get my butt over to the lake house to get started. I had to wait on the kids to get there with the supplies and once they arrived we hit the ground running. Blowing up balloons, cutting flowers, blowing up floats and making props. There were cupcakes and special wine. So much hustle. The kids had a go pro hidden in the room and they were streaming it live from the upstairs bedroom. I had my iphone hidden recording from another angle as I laid on the floor of the bathroom peaking out for Gary to get in position so I could start snapping the proposal. Jennie had to go to the bathroom when they came in but luckily Gary diverted her attention to the mantle and the flowers before the jig was up.
What a great night. What a great weekend and even more so, what a great couple. They really do bring out the best in each other.
I don't have to wish them all the happiness in the world because they already have it.
