One of my most frequented spots along the South Carolina coast is this abandoned pickle factory.
It is well known in the area and just along the Spanish Moss Trail. The first time I explored the area was after my very first half marathon. I limped my way a few miles down the trail to find this place. Truly dedicated to urban exploring, I am. Seriously though, I was so sore, I don't know how I made it.
There isn't a whole lot to see inside so not exactly worth trespassing for but the outside looks interesting and the trail itself is gorgeous. If I lived nearby I would run this everyday.
Further down the trail is an old brick railroad building that the path winds through. Below is an old picture from a maternity shoot I did there.
There is 9 miles of finished trail so far. I tackle a portion each time I return. I have been slacking on running these past few weeks and I have the Peachtree coming up so I need to get back into running longer again. If I had places like this near me that were flat and long it would make training so much easier.
